Historic Babylon

Last weekend Uncle Max, Dad and I headed for the hills. It had been a while since dad and I had been out with Uncle Max but, as always, it was a great time. On top of being in good company and the weather being better than one could hope for, we got to see some new country and it was close to home. We spent the entire time in the vicinity of Leeds Utah. The first stop on our journey was a place called Babylon. It was an old mining claim situated on the Virgin River. The primary ore being mined was Copper. These couple shots are of the smelter sitting right on the banks of the Virgin.
