Historic Babylon

Last weekend Uncle Max, Dad and I headed for the hills. It had been a while since dad and I had been out with Uncle Max but, as always, it was a great time. On top of being in good company and the weather being better than one could hope for, we got to see some new country and it was close to home. We spent the entire time in the vicinity of Leeds Utah. The first stop on our journey was a place called Babylon. It was an old mining claim situated on the Virgin River. The primary ore being mined was Copper. These couple shots are of the smelter sitting right on the banks of the Virgin.

Under the Ol' Cedar Tree

I have always dug the old time look photography and I thought that this was a good fit. Its crazy how technology comes and goes. In its day this was a prime piece of farm machinery. It kind of make me wonder what will be sitting under the ol' cedar tree in another 50 years.

If I'm lucky maybe it will be me

Man About Town

The time is drawing ever closer when Mom and Dad will head out into the mission field. However before they headed out Dad, Estefan and I made one last 'boys' trip to Cannonville. I am sure Dad wont appreciate this post much but I thought I had better get a few last shots of him around town before they head out. Thanks for one last good trip out into the back-country. I look forward to many more when you get home.
